I'm so excited to start using my new planner! You guys know I'm all about saving money, so a while back I got an amazing deal on the Happy Planner Kit. It originally retails for $34.99, but I got it when Michael's sold it for 40% off AND I was able to use a 25% off coupon on top of it. So I paid about $16 after tax. SCORE!!
Stickers are such a huge thing in the Planner community and they can be super expensive! A half sheet (5x7) can cost anywhere from $5-$8 on Etsy.
Of course I will never pay that much for stickers! There are so many other alternatives and of course I can always rely on AliExpress for cute stationary stickers.
Here are a few sticker sets I've recently purchased. I love that there are so many varieties of stickers on AliExpress and best of all they are super INEXPENSIVE! Most of these sets were under a $1!
As you know (or you'll soon find out) planning is an expensive hobby! As I am saving up for my upcoming adventures, I wanted to plan as cheaply as I can without compromising quality. Therefore, I've been on a mission to find the best deals and get the best bang for my buck.
Hi planners!! I couldn't find any tutorials on how to make icon stickers, but they're super easy to make so I thought I would make a video tutorial to share with you all. This is my first video tutorial EVER so bare with me. I hope you enjoy this and subscribe for future tutorials. Good luck & share your creations!
Software you'll need:
Silhouette Studio Basic Edition (Free download): http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/software
As promised here are your free printables. All icons are from Flaticons.
Seriously since my last blog post (last night) I feel like I've literally entered a rabbit hole. In this case, the rabbit hole of creating planner stickers! I'm learning so much and am so excited to share with you guys! So if you're like me --you're either too broke to buy planner stickers on Etsy or too creative to not create your own! I have good news for you, it's super EASY!
There are many ways to create planner stickers -- but here is how I do it. ---> Also make sure to read the blog post before this one for other great websites to get FREE GRAPHICS to use for your stickers.
1. Download Silhouette Studio
I know what you're thinking, don't freak out on me just yet! I was reluctant to try this software at first because I didn't own a fancy silhouette cutting machine (although I hope to someday--maybe). BUT GREAT NEWS --- YOU DON'T NEED A FANCY MACHINE!! The software is free to download (there's a more advance version you can pay for--BUT who doesn't like free stuff). Click here to download the "Silhouette Studio Basic Edition."
2. Watch these tutorials
It may seem overwhelming at first learning a new software, but I guaranteed you, you won't regret it! It has made designing so much easier compared to what I was doing before.

I'm so happy that I'm able to dive back into my creative side. Throughout college I worked as a graphic designer making lots and lots of pretty things, but never really got to play around much. NOW I finally have a purpose to & it's so much fun. It's unfortunate I don't own Adobe Photoshop, so it takes so much longer to create anything graphically.
If you're like me, I'm glad you've stumble upon this blog post, because YOU DON'T NEED PHOTOSHOP to create great printables! These are websites I've used to make awesome printables +++ go to the end for a FREE Winter Kit printable!
This is by far the BEST FREE online photo editing software I've come across. If you're already a photoshop user, this site is a simpler version of photoshop. It's less advanced (since it's FREE!) but it gets the job done!
I've used a planner/agenda since elementary school but have never used it for anything else besides jotting down homework. Little did I know there's a WHOLE COMMUNITY built around planning, planners & cute stationary! Although, I only know one REAL planner girl, there are so many people (& facebook groups) who are using planners as a creative outlet.
Since picking up this new hobby I've been exploring my creative side and have gotten into a lot of crafting lately. However, it's not a cheap hobby, I'll tell you that! There's so much you can add to your planners for example: washi tapes, stickers, stamps, or just plain doodling. Instead of spending a fortune on stickers from Etsy, I've started making my own printables! AND yes it's available and FREE for you to use. Since I'll be using a Happy Planner by Me and My Big Ideas, I've made these stickers to fit it, but you can also use it on other planners.
Happy planning & stay tune for more printables in the near future!
