"I'm proud to say, I am the first girl in my family to graduate from college."
It's been a little over a week now since I've (SAT) on that stage. I would say 'WALK'...but recently my university changed its graduation ceremony so instead of graduating by colleges, we now hold ONE HUGE graduation celebration at Camp Randall (Stadium) and no one gets to walk. It's a little disappointing considering we work so hard for the past 4-5 years and we don't even get the little 2 seconds of recognition most graduates should. BUT, that being said, I was ok with it because I did attend 3 other smaller graduation ceremony where I got my 2 seconds of recognition and walked.
All I can say is...graduation week was a blurred. It was...EXAM, EXAM, EXAM... ooh graduation... oh I'm done. It literally happened that fast. I'm glad I took a moment during the ceremony to close my eyes, listen to the cheers, feel the heat of the beaming sun, and just took it all in.
The best part about graduation wasn't the flowers, the recognition, the gown, or the ceremony but the fact that I got to celebrate it with my family. I honestly wouldn't have been able to go through the past 5 years without the support of my family. I'm proud to say, I am the first girl in my family to graduate from college. At the end of the day, I did this for myself but most importantly I did this for my parents. I know my mom is extremely proud of me, and I only wish my dad was here to see me graduate too. But nonetheless, I know he is proud of me.
