"I've been to HOLLYWOOD!" You guys know how much I love to travel, so as a graduation gift to myself (but really just another excuse to travel), I went on a 4 days & 3 nights cruise to Ensenada, Mexico with my boyfriend. Being the smart travelers that we are (or being a recent college grad traveling on a budget) we took public transportation as much as we could on this trip. We pretty much took it all; taxis, buses, metro, boats, planes, shuttle vans, and of course walked (a lot).

It's my last spring break as an undergrad and guess what I'm doing with it? PCB!!!! Or Panama City beach! That's the crazy spring break all college kids go to....JUST KIDDING not this gal. I've had plenty of fun as a college student so for this spring break I did something a little different. I decided to take a road trip to McAllen, Texas to do some volunteering work with 8 other UW students. For those of you who don't know where this is (...ME!) it's very far down south about 20 minutes away from the US-Mexico border. Here is a vlog I did along the way: We spent 4 days volunteering with La Union Del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) and 1 day at Sacred Heart's Church. With LUPE, we got the chance to learn about immigration policies and their implications on undocumented people. We got to witness life in the colonias (where low income documented and undocumented families lived). There are a million reasons why someone should study abroad. For whatever reason you go, I can tell you one thing for sure, YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. Studying abroad was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life for so many reasons, but here are my top 10 reasons. I love to travel and there are still so many places I've yet to travel to. The first country I started my travels in was none other than my birth country, Thailand. Over the course of 11 months I explored many great places in Southeast Asia and had the time of my life. Here is the list of Southeast Asian countries I've visited.
1) Thailand 2) Singapore 3) Cambodia 4) Vietnam Stay tuned for future blog posts on each individual experiences. Have a wonderful day. XOXO Sia |
